Maintenance Technician, Cavan

Maintenance Technician (V-MMWKMG) Cavan, Republic of Ireland Overview: A skilled Mechanical Craft Person is required to deliver high-quality mechanical maintenance in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This hands-on role supports plant reliability, efficiency, and continuous production, working closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams.

Responsibilities

Carry out mechanical fault finding, breakdown response, and repairs to minimise downtime

Execute planned preventive and corrective maintenance activities

Maintain and overhaul equipment including pumps, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, and rotating machinery

Work on hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems

Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of mechanical equipment

Ensure full compliance with HSEQ standards, including Permit to Work and LOTO procedures

Accurately complete CMMS work orders and maintenance records

Collaborate with production, engineering, and contractors to optimise plant performance

Participate in shutdowns and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

Qualified Mechanical Craftsperson (QQI/FETAC Level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate or equivalent)

3+ years' experience in an industrial maintenance environment

Strong experience in mechanical fault finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance

Good working knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and steam systems

Experience using CMMS and good computer literacy

Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or within a team
