Financial Accountant, Cavan

Hybrid role | 4-day week considered (ideally 5 days) A growing engineering and fabrication business in Cavan is seeking to appoint a hands‑on Financial Accountant to take ownership of the finance function and support the continued growth of the business. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this is a broad SME role offering strong visibility across operations, projects, payroll, cashflow, and commercial performance.This position will suit an accountant who enjoys working closely with the wider business in a practical and fast‑moving environment. Key Responsibilities

Preparation of monthly management accounts Cashflow forecasting and financial reporting Payroll processing for approximately 20–24 employees VAT, PAYE, and statutory compliance Job costing and margin analysis across projects Oversight of accounts payable and receivable Supporting and overseeing a junior accounts administratorDebtor management and supplier payments Liaising with external accountants and auditors Supporting process improvements and financial controls About You

Qualified Accountant or strong QBE profile Experience within engineering, construction, manufacturing, or SME environments advantageous Strong understanding of day‑to‑day finance operations Comfortable working in a hands‑on role with operational exposure Strong communication and organisational skillsProficient across Excel and accounting systems What’s on Offer
