We are partnering with a leading Irish manufacturer of safety-critical electronic products to hire an experienced
Manufacturing Engineering Manager . This is a key leadership role responsible for driving manufacturing excellence across New Product Introduction (NPI), automation, facilities development, and production engineering support. This position offers the opportunity to lead strategic manufacturing initiatives within a highly automated, high-volume electronics environment.The Role
You will lead the Manufacturing Engineering function, ensuring new products are successfully industrialised, automation projects deliver measurable operational improvements, and manufacturing systems support continued business growth. You will work closely with R&D, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Automation teams to improve manufacturing capability, scalability, quality, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
New Product Introduction (NPI) Lead manufacturing engineering involvement from product concept through pilot builds and production ramp-up. Drive strong Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) practices. Develop scalable and robust manufacturing processes for new products. Lead PFMEA, process validation, control plans, and structured production handovers.Deliver NPI projects to target cost, yield, quality, and timeline objectives. Automation&Manufacturing Improvement Support development and execution of the site automation strategy. Identify opportunities for manufacturing, test, and material handling automation. Drive improvements in productivity, quality, repeatability, and labour efficiency. Support automation project delivery and equipment implementation.Production&Technical Support Provide senior engineering support for complex manufacturing and production issues. Drive structured problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives. Support OEE improvement and production line performance optimisation. Work closely with maintenance and test engineering teams to improve manufacturing capability.Facilities&Infrastructure Support manufacturing capacity expansion and facility development projects. Assist with layout optimisation, infrastructure planning, and production readiness. Ensure manufacturing facilities support operational growth and reliability. Leadership Lead and develop a high-performing Manufacturing Engineering team.Promote strong collaboration across engineering, operations, and quality functions. Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Requirements
Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronic, or Industrial Engineering. 7+ years’ experience within high-volume electronics manufacturing. Previous engineering leadership or team management experience. Strong background in: NPI and product industrialisation Manufacturing automation Structured problem solvingExperience with DFM, DFT, PFMEA, process validation, and yield improvement. Strong stakeholder management and project delivery skills. Experience managing capital equipment or automation projects is advantageous. Ideal Profile
Hands-on but strategic engineering leader. Strong technical depth in electronics manufacturing environments. Comfortable operating in fast-paced production settings.
