An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced

Senior Test Automation Engineer

to join a fast-paced engineering environment supporting the development of advanced embedded electronic products.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the product development lifecycle, working closely with design and engineering teams to deliver robust, high-quality automated test solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development, analysis, and documentation of test requirements with cross-functional stakeholders.

Develop and own detailed test strategies and test plans, ensuring full requirements traceability and risk-based coverage.

Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test systems using NI LabVIEW and TestStand.

Define test specifications, verification methodologies, and acceptance criteria for complex electronic systems.

Perform advanced troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis activities.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives relating to test frameworks, automation architecture, and engineering practices.

Specify, integrate, and optimise a wide range of measurement instrumentation and interfaces.

Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Support validation and audit activities where required.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

Contribute to the development of long-term automation strategies and engineering best practices.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ experience in automated test development for embedded electronic products.

Proficiency in NI LabVIEW.

Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) certification or higher is highly desirable.

Strong understanding of embedded systems, electronics, and measurement instrumentation.

Experience with hardware/software interfacing and communication protocols including Serial, I²C, SPI, and CAN.

Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Strong technical documentation and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.

Experience with automated QA tools such as Selenium, Python, or CLI-based testing.

Familiarity with NI TestStand, DAQ systems, and instrument control.

Experience working with mains-powered products.

Knowledge of defect tracking systems such as Jira.

Experience using source code management tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or SourceTree.

Degree qualification in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
