The IT Portfolio Delivery Manager The IT Portfolio Delivery Manager will oversee Carbery’s global IT portfolio, ensuring predictable and effective delivery across multiple small IT teams while driving alignment to strategic goals.
The role involves managing portfolio intake and prioritisation, coordinating cross‑functional delivery, facilitating Agile ceremonies as a certified Scrum Master, and maintaining clear governance, metrics and reporting.
Responsibilities
Run the IT Portfolio– maintain a single, prioritised view of all work with visibility of status, value and risk, and oversee end‑to‑end delivery across multiple small teams.
Manage portfolio intake and prioritisation, aligning work to strategic goals and identifying cross‑team dependencies.
Coordinate cross‑functional team delivery, sequence work to manage dependencies, plan releases, and maintain accurate backlogs and delivery roadmaps.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies (monthly sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews, retrospectives) as a certified Scrum Master.
Provide stakeholder communication as the central point of contact across IT, business stakeholders and partners, and deliver executive‑ready portfolio reporting with transparent performance measures.
Apply right‑sized Agile practices where appropriate, continuously improve project tracking, reporting and delivery processes, and standardise metrics to improve predictability.
Manage internal and external resources, including onboarding and coordinating external partners during peaks, and ensure resource allocation aligns with team and business objectives.
Anticipate and identify potential risks and roadblocks proactively, developing mitigation strategies, and manage scope and change control with clear documentation.
Drive global alignment in delivery methods, tools and reporting across regions, and facilitate cross‑regional prioritisation balancing strategic initiatives with BAU needs.
Support team members by removing delivery‑related administrative burdens, leading retrospectives, and embedding continuous improvement practices.
Maintain a customer‑focus mindset, meeting internal and external customer expectations and using customer information for improvement.
Prioritise work to focus on critical initiatives, quickly eliminating roadblocks and creating focus.
Measure and manage work by assigning responsibility, setting clear objectives, monitoring progress, and designing feedback loops.
Demonstrate strategic agility, anticipating future consequences and trends and developing breakthrough strategies.
Qualifications
Certified Scrum Master.
Strong communication skills essential for building trust, maintaining transparency and addressing user feedback.
Proficiency in effectively managing priorities and establishing productive relationships with internal customers.
Adaptability to evolving customer needs and ability to collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams.
Ability to manage competing priorities effectively and steer end‑to‑end delivery of IT initiatives.
