We are hiring a Senior Solutions Engineer to lead complex engineering analyses, develop high-impact energy-optimisation solutions, and provide technical leadership across client projects.
This is a senior, high-autonomy role that combines deep engineering expertise, data analysis, and delivery leadership, with the opportunity to shape how industrial energy systems are optimised across global client sites.
The Opportunity You will work across the full lifecycle of industrial energy projects from data analysis and opportunity identification through to engineering design and implementation support.
Projects typically focus on:
Steam and thermal systems optimisation
Refrigeration and cooling systems
Compressed air systems
Industrial heat pumps and electrification
Renewable and low-carbon energy integration
Large-scale industrial energy performance improvement
You will also play a key role in leveraging CoolPlanet’s digital platform (CPOS) to analyse performance data, identify opportunities and deliver measurable energy and carbon reductions.
Key Responsibilities Engineering&Technical Leadership
Lead complex energy assessments, engineering studies and solution development activities across industrial client sites
Analyse large datasets to generate actionable engineering insights and identify optimisation opportunities
Define and review energy‑saving calculations, models and technical reports
Lead Front‑End Engineering Design (FEED) activities and provide oversight for detailed design (EDD)
Act as a senior technical interface with clients, suppliers and contractors
Delivery Leadership
Take ownership of delivery across defined engineering workstreams
Plan, prioritise and coordinate engineering activities within structured project environments
Manage risks, data challenges and delivery blockers proactively
Ensure progress and outcomes are clearly communicated to internal and external stakeholders
Drive continuous improvement in engineering standards, tools and delivery processes
People&Technical Development (where applicable)
Mentor and support junior and intermediate engineers
Review technical outputs to ensure quality and consistency
Contribute to the development of engineering capability and best practices
Support performance and development conversations where acting in a leadership capacity
What We’re Looking For
Degree in Mechanical, Process, Energy Systems or related Engineering discipline
Significant experience delivering complex engineering solutions in industrial or manufacturing environments
Strong technical expertise across multiple energy systems (e.g. steam, cooling, compressed air, thermal systems)
Advanced analytical capability, including working with large datasets and digital tools
Ability to combine hands‑on engineering with coordination and delivery leadership
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Comfortable working with high autonomy and accountability
Master’s degree in a relevant field
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar accreditation
Experience in food&beverage, pharma, or large industrial sites
Experience leading FEED or early‑stage engineering design
Familiarity with data platforms, digital engineering tools or performance monitoring systems
Interest in AI, automation or advanced analytics applied to engineering
