Overall Job Purpose
To ensure the smooth running of the Food and Beverage department by delivering exceptional friendly service at all times, to every guest, in line with the Talbot Collection Empower Your Excellence customer service program.
To be respectful, polite, friendly, and unfailingly helpful in all your dealings with guests and colleagues alike, recognising that you are an ambassador of the Talbot Collection at all times.
Role Specific Duties
To set and implement all Food and Beverage standards as agreed with the General Manager.
To ensure that all guests are met on arrival and all needs are catered for.
To ensure that all costs are controlled, particularly wages.
To liaise closely with the Sales and Marketing team regarding all events.
To liaise closely with the Head Chef regarding food quality.
To ensure that staff are fully trained in the delivery of the agreed standards.
To comply with all Health and Safety regulations.
To work closely with HR concerning recruitment and appraisals and follow the company procedures in this area.
To carry out appraisals on all departmental staff when and as required to assess performance and development needs.
To ensure staff are correctly uniformed and presented to the highest possible level.
To carry out Duty Management as required and assist in other areas of the hotel as required.
To attend weekly management meetings and feedback all relevant information to the team.
To ensure a 4‑star standard is maintained at all times and to strive to constantly exceed customer expectation.
The successful candidate will
Have 3 years’ experience managing a venue that served both food and beverage. Experience managing a hotel bar would be a distinct advantage.
Have 2 years’ experience managing a team.
Have good financial acumen and 2 years’ experience managing rosters, wages, stock and margins.
Be passionate and motivated by guest satisfaction.
Be organised and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Be a team player.
