Description

Role: Financial Accountant

General: As a vital contributor to the Finance Department, the Financial Accountant reports directly to the Financial Controller. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence across all accounting functions, ensuring that financial processes are structured, executed, and finalized with high accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to company standards.

Duties:

Compile monthly management accounts and comprehensive reporting packages.Manage general ledger activities and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.Post accruals and prepayments.Oversee month-end closing procedures, delivering essential business metrics and reports as needed.Prepare and submit statutory returns, including VAT, RTD, Intrastat, and RCT/CIS.Coordinate weekly headcount reporting.Conduct routine reconciliations for bank accounts, tax authorities (Revenue), debtors, and creditors.Assist in generating weekly commercial P&L reports.Prepare, review, and allocate project costs and weekly labor metrics.Reconcile weekly project data against monthly actuals to identify and mitigate variances.Set up and monitor lease and hire purchase agreements, reconciling them to the balance sheet each month.Support the management of inventory and fixed assets within the ERP system.Support the annual budgeting process and year-end audit preparation.Maintain and monitor the finance team's shared mailboxes daily, resolving queries from internal and external stakeholders promptly.Resolve internal queries in a timely manner while preserving a clear audit trail.Collaborate with colleagues to ensure robust internal controls are active and effective.Analyze existing business and financial workflows to introduce efficiencies, utilizing advanced Excel modeling, automation, AI tools, and system upgrades.Execute additional tasks as designated by the Financial Controller or leadership team.

Skills:

Fully Qualified Accountant.Highly organized problem-solver with strong troubleshooting experience.Familiarity with ERP software platforms is highly advantageous.Strong hands-on experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Proactive, self-motivated professional who can work independently or partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business targets.Proven track record of managing competing priorities and multiple demands to meet strict deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
