The purpose of this CMM 2 / CNM 2- Colposcopy post is to provide clinical expertise and support to staff working in the Gynaecology/Colposcopy Service. S/he will provide leadership in the delivery of specialised services and will ensure the Colposcopy service is part of a dynamic and growing health care facility catering for the health needs of women referred to the Colposcopy service.

The CMM 2 / CNM 2- Colposcopy will carry out the duties appropriate to the specialist area and support and supervise staff in training.

The, must be accredited by the BSCCP (British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology) and work within the BSCCP scope of practice.

Caseload

The caseload will include Women referred to colposcopy with high-risk HPV positive results and normal/abnormal cytology. The CMM 2 / CNM 2- Colposcopy will manage their own caseload where resources allow. The CMM 2 / CNM 2- Colposcopy may cover consultant Colposcopist caseload in the event of sick/annual leave where resources allow and within their scope of practice as a Nurse Colposcopist with diagnostic module complete.

Dedicated Coloscopy area and a dedicated Colposcopy Team.

The Colposcopy Team comprises of 4 Colposcopy Consultants, CNM2, Trainee Nurse Colposcopist, HCA and Admin Team.

4 X Consultant led Colposcopy Consultants, CNM2, Trainee Nurse Colposcopist, HCA and Admin Team.

Predominantly GP referrals and GOPD referrals.

Triage systems for referrals that reflect NCSS National Guidelines.
