Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Engineer– East Cork to work with our

team on an oil refinery in East Cork.

What You Will Be Doing

Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation activities including piping, valves, supports.

Ensure work is carried out according to engineering drawings, specifications, and refinery standards.

Monitor progress and ensure timely completion of mechanical works.

Ordering material and tracking material inventory.

Conduct inspections and quality checks on mechanical installations.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and refinery practices.

Assist in preparing and reviewing method statements and risk assessments.

Creation of test packs including weld histories, NDT&hydrotest reports.

Provide technical guidance to site teams and subcontractors.

Liaise with design engineers to resolve technical issues and implement design changes.

Support commissioning and testing of mechanical systems.

Maintain accurate records of site activities, inspections, and test results.

Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and submit to project management.

Assist in preparing as‑built documentation and handover packages.

Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.

Coordinate with refinery personnel for permits, access, and shutdowns.

Who We Are Looking For

Relevant CSCS card and required competency/skills certifications.

Demonstrate ability to manage and mentor junior staff in all aspects of site engineering.

Ability to produce, implement and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures.

Ability and confidence to communicate and present to Top‑Level Management, Senior‑level clients and public.

Previous experience on oil, gas, or refinery projects (experience in water or pharmaceutical sectors may also be considered).
