Senior Technical Program Manager, Network Monitoring, Dublin Pike

Description AWS operates one of the world’s largest and most highly available networks which continues to grow rapidly in both size and complexity in response to customer demand. Many AWS customers run mission‑critical workloads that depend on our networks to be always on. Network Monitoring and Remediation (NMR) is responsible for preventing, predicting, detecting and remediating impairments across our network, both physical and logical, before they cause impact to our customers. We own the software systems that consume trillions of telemetry datapoints per day from the millions of network devices, use various big‑data techniques including ML/AI to turn the telemetry into actionable notifications when things go bad, and package them into our event management system for automated mitigation and remediation. For the less than 2% of detected issues that we haven’t automated yet, we provide a suite of expert diagnostic tools that enable our human operators to quickly determine next steps. Our vision is that any failure in the network is pre‑emptively remediated before it can cause customer impact by systems that require no human intervention.

We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead ambitious programs in the space of network AI and observability, with a key focus on program coordination between multiple teams, to deliver new products and improve existing ones.

Key Job Responsibilities

Own delivery of program outcomes, diving deep into dependent systems across internal partners within AWS and building coordinated change plans.

Work with partners to identify and design technical solutions, advocate for prioritization, and manage delivery regardless of team location.

Create scalable reporting mechanisms for program progress to senior leadership and support partners in achieving speed‑of‑alarming and cost‑saving goals.

Ensure the group uses the right AWS services and methodologies for company‑scale, while recognizing the unique requirements of the networking problem space.

Lead programs to deliver Network Observability customers’ goals and represent the organization to stakeholders.

Manage multiple competing cross‑organizational projects/programs simultaneously on a global scale across North America, EMEA, and APAC regions.

Interact daily with engineers, data‑center technicians, deployment managers, and senior management; participate in engineering reviews of network design.

Run meetings, create and maintain timelines, keep large diverse groups informed of progress and obstacles, and ensure consistency in deployed configurations.

Drive simplification efforts in engineering and program management to unblock innovation, and create predictable process paths for large or complex efforts.

Basic Qualifications

Experience in technical product or program management.

Experience working directly with engineering teams.

Experience in software development.

Experience in technical program management working directly with software engineering teams.

Experience managing programs across cross‑functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk/critical‑path management.

Experience managing projects across cross‑functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules.

Experience defining KPIs/SLA’s used to drive multi‑million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
