Compensation&Benefits The expected base salary range for this position at the Toronto location is CAD $93,713– $114,538 per year. For positions based in other jurisdictions, compensation will be aligned with local regulations, market benchmarks, and internal frameworks. Job Summary We are looking for an IT Business Analyst to join our Group IT Life and Health Underwriting and Claims application team. The role will drive the development and adoption of software solutions, support stable IT operations, and work with internal stakeholders to ensure solutions meet complex business and compliance needs.

About The Role

Manage BAU system operations, application‑specific ITSM processes, security and compliance requests, change requests, and user on/off boarding.

Translate business needs into clear, actionable IT requirements.

Drive the design and validation of IT solutions with architecture, development, and business teams.

Test and ensure the quality of developed solutions, define and oversee test strategies, support UAT, and ensure high‑quality, user‑centric delivery.

Guide data and reporting initiatives, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and business value.

Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications Technical Skills

Proven experience in requirements gathering, process modelling, and solution design for complex IT systems.

Proficiency with BA tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Visio, Miro, Figma) and agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, etc.).

Solid knowledge of data structures, reporting, and analytics relevant to underwriting and claims.

Experience with IT development platforms such as .Net, Azure Clouds, Appian, etc.

Exposure to AI/ML applications in underwriting or claims automation.

Soft Skills

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills in English, bridging business and technical teams.

Proactive problem‑solving, resilience, and an optimistic, action‑oriented mindset.

Work Experience

5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in insurance or reinsurance, ideally focusing on Life&Health underwriting and/or claims.

Education / Professional Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field.

Scrum Master and ITSM‑related certifications are desired.
