Staff Grade Psychologist
The Staff Grade Psychologist will play a key role in supporting the reduction of waiting lists for psychological services within a Primary Care setting based close to Dublin City Centre. The postholder will provide brief, evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions for children, adolescents, and/or adults (depending on service configuration). The role focuses on early intervention, stepped-care approaches, and close collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues to improve access to timely psychological care.Responsibilities
Undertake initial psychological assessments for clients on the waiting list. Provide brief, evidence‐based psychological interventions (e.g., CBT, ACT, solution‑focused, or guided self‑help approaches). Develop and deliver group‑based interventions or psychoeducation programmes as appropriate.Collaborate with GPs, primary care teams, and other allied health professionals to support integrated care. Maintain accurate and up-to‑date clinical records in line with professional and service standards. Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and supervision. Service Development
Contribute to the design and implementation of innovative strategies to reduce waiting times and enhance service efficiency. Collect and report service data related to the waitlist initiative (e.g., referrals processed, waiting times, outcomes). Support evaluation and audit of the initiative to inform future service planning.Professional
Receive and engage in regular clinical supervision from a Senior/Principal Psychologist. Engage in continuing professional development (CPD) activities in line with professional body requirements. Adhere to ethical, professional, and governance standards as set out by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and HSE policies.Qualifications
Recognised postgraduate qualification in Psychology appropriate to the role (e.g., Doctorate or Master’s in Clinical, Counselling, or Health Psychology). Eligibility for graduate membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). Relevant supervised experience delivering psychological assessment and intervention in a healthcare or community setting.
