Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more, or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Job Description Position Title: Maintenance (Community Employment– Developmental Opportunity)

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

Key Requirements and Support:

Irish Sign Language (ISL) is essential for this role. The successful participant will be working closely with members of the Deaf community, where ISL is the first language.

All participants will be expected to learn ISL. ISL classes will be provided as part of the programme.

Duties Include:

General building and grounds maintenance

Minor repairs and basic DIY tasks

Painting, cleaning, and upkeep of communal areas

Assisting with health and safety checks

Maintaining facilities for community use

Working as part of a team supporting the local community
