Student Internship– Early Learning Initiative
Purpose of Position:
The Third Level Internship Programme is available to National College of Ireland (NCI) students. It offers students the opportunity to develop and extend their personal, academic and professional skills, while becoming active in their local community. Reporting to:
Assistant Director of the Early Learning Initiative and Educational Guidance Coordinator Assistant Director of the Early Learning Initiative ELI Educational Guidance Coordinator Other ELI Coordinators National College of Ireland ELI Stakeholders Key Responsibilities:
Support the planning, implementation and evaluation of the ELI’s programmes e.g. Discover University, Coding Clubs etc, both face to face and online Support the organisation of ELI events and activities, both online and face-to-face Help with the development, packing and delivery of programme resources to local servicesParticipate in visits to local schools and after schools to support ELI programmes and activities Participate in research activities as needed, including collecting, collating, inputting and reporting on research Assist in the creation and posting of social media content for ELI, as well as collating social media data and analyticsPrepare and maintain records, reports and/or test data on the programme and participating children Any other duties as assigned by the Educational Guidance Coordinator or ELI Assistant Director General:
To facilitate interns to develop their personal and professional skills To create a safe, positive working environment for interns To facilitate interns to become active in their local community To support the delivery of ELI programmes Key Requirements:
The successful candidate will be a current student in National College of Ireland. Experience of working with young children and families in relevant settings is an advantage. Experience with Microsoft packages, including Excel. Experience with online video conferencing platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams is an advantage.Experience creating engaging content for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn). Flexible approach to work as hours will vary. Ability to work remotely (reliable internet access and workspace). Potential capacity to work independently and as part of a team in a cross disciplinary, integrated team, sharing roles and responsibilities.Good time management, administrative and organisational skills. An energetic, confident and pro-active individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills.€13.50 hourly rate Contract:
12 Months fixed-term contract. Hours:
