About the role
Jacobs' Cities&Places team in Ireland is looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams on civil and structural infrastructure projects. You will work with key clients such as the Land Development Agency, National Transport Authority, Transport Infrastructure Ireland and local authorities to translate their ambitions into high‑quality, buildable outcomes.Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage multi‑disciplinary design teams, ensuring integrated and aligned deliverables that meet programme, cost and quality objectives. Coordinate with clients to understand their needs, challenge assumptions where appropriate, and develop solutions that create long‑term value. Provide technical assuranceand support decision‑making throughout the delivery lifecycle, engaging directly with contractors as required.Communicate progress, risks and mitigation strategies effectively to stakeholders with competing priorities. Present ideas, evaluate alternatives and articulate outcomes to drive confident client and team decisions. Key Qualifications
Degree‑qualified engineer with chartered status (or actively working towards it). Strong Design Management experience across infrastructure projects, including transport, development and housing. Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams in a complex stakeholder environment. Solid working knowledge of BIM delivery and proficiency with tools such as Revizto, Navisworks, AutoCAD, P6 / MS Project and information‑management systems.Proven experience managing commercial, contractual and programme elements of project delivery. Self‑confidence to work autonomously and build effective relationships across diverse stakeholders. Work arrangement
Full‑time role based on a 40‑hour working week. Hybrid‑working basis (2 days per week), with flexibility to be based from our Dublin or Cork offices. Flexi time available and a strong focus on work‑life balance. Controlled environment
The ability to obtain SC‑level security clearance would be considered an advantage. Benefits
