Offsite, must be within the Island of Ireland or an EU Country
Start Date:
1st July 2026
Engagement Type:
Initial 12 months Full‑Time, with possibility of further extension
Mandatory Requirements (Pass/Fail)
Experience Level Required
– Equivalent of senior level (4 to 6 years) experience
Availability on Commencement Date
– Must be available from 1st July 2026
CEFR C2 Proficiency/Mastery (or equivalent); if no certificate, fluency will be assessed at presentation stage
Requirements Role Specifications and Requirements
The following key deliverables are applicable to this role:
Responsible for designing databases and ensuring their stability, reliability, performance, and for optimising PL/SQL statements as necessary while establishing best practices
Provide expertise in the full development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing
Develop new database‑centric functionality on existing software products
Create technical and architectural documentation and instructions throughout programme development
Troubleshoot changes, errors, and modifications
Maintain performance, integrity, and security of the architecture, including refactoring legacy systems
Ensure data remains consistent across the database, is clearly defined, and that users can access it concurrently in a form that suits their needs, while providing data security and recovery controls (all data is retrievable in an emergency)
Design schemes, tables, servers, and set permissions for user access
Create shell scripts and perform timely backups of all key database systems
Examples of relevant platforms include but are not limited to SQL Server or equivalent
