About The Role We have an exciting opportunity for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join our growing team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial building surveying, with proven experience delivering Technical Due Diligence inspections, advising on Landlord&Tenant and Dilapidations matters, and managing projects on behalf of commercial clients. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and enthusiastic team player, capable of working collaboratively while also managing their own workload, and keen to contribute to the continued growth and success of the team.
Responsibilities
Undertake Technical Due Diligence inspections and surveys
Deliver transaction-led surveys, including pre-acquisition and pre-disposal reports
Carry out building fabric condition and defect analysis surveys
Complete stock condition surveys across estate portfolios
Dilapidations - acting for either Landlord or Tenant during the Dilaps process
Deliver Landlord&Tenant services, including approvals, licences and general lease advisory matters
Manage commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects on behalf of clients
Advise on energy upgrades, retrofit solutions, low-carbon design and ESG-led initiatives
Essential Requirements
Registered Building Surveyor, ideally Chartered Surveyor or in the process of APC
Strong technical knowledge of building construction, materials and systems, and identifying building defects and rectification
Experience with project management, with hands-on experience overseeing contractors across commercial fit-outs and refurbishments
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in consultancy settings, fostering strong client relationships and contributing to team-driven project success.
Knowledge of current Building and Property related Legislation, including Statutory compliance/BCAR/Building Regulations, Construction and Workplace Health&Safety Regulations, Planning Law, Property/Construction related legislation, Landlord and Tenant legislation, and experience in assessing and advising on Lease related matters.
Experience in Landlord&Tenant matters, specifically dilapidations and strong negotiating skills
Excellent problem-solving skills with flexible attitude to providing solutions-based advice
Willingness to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team&contribute to delivering best-in-class outcomes for clients
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Experience in report writing and strong attention to detail
Access to own transport&a full driving license
