Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in ensuring preparation, food production, and food service are carried out to the highest standard and in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
Manage the general day‑to‑day running of the section.
Understand HACCP/COSHH requirements.
Control costs and quality for incoming and outgoing goods.
Ensure proper stock rotation and control.
Maintain accurate daily temperature readings.
Ensure all kitchen equipment, fixtures, and fittings are in good working order and not misused.
Adhere to cleaning schedules and conduct daily hygiene checks.
Serve food in accordance with menu specifications.
Wear clean, suitable uniform.
Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
Support the equal opportunities policy for a neutral working environment.
Participate in training and personnel exercises to improve standards and performance.
Follow standard procedures within each department.
Keep staff/work areas tidy and safe; report hazards, accidents, and damages to management.
Purchase all goods, ensuring they meet relevant specifications and hygiene standards.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Minimum five years of experience in fast‑paced restaurants.
Fluent in English.
Excellent communication skills.
Passion and creativity for menu design.
Team player.
Ability to work under pressure.
