As a
Clinical Pharmacist , this position is responsible for overall drug information research, evaluation and reviews in response to clinical inquiries from partnering departments. This position is part of a cross‑functional division (e.g., Finance Accounting, Commercial, Legal, Contract Specialist, and Client Management) coordinating formulary strategies for over 60 therapeutic classes. The work of the Clinical Pharmacist ensures collaborating areas have essential details for clinically appropriate decision making.

Primary Responsibilities
Provide clinical support with respect to pharmacy benefit design
Conduct clinical research and review drug labels, treatment guidelines, published literature and other key sources to inform drug coverage strategies
Support, liaise, and provide clinical pharmacy consulting services to cross functional teams including individuals with a broad range of expertise
Collaborate on maintenance and enhancements of the clinical intake tool (Optum Rx Clinical Support)
Work with partners such as clinical leadership, commercial strategy and legal
Collaborate with the greater clinical organization including Drug Intelligence, Pipeline, Industry Relations, and Clinical Utilization Management
Review and contribute to the maintenance and development of clinical policies
Maintain solid clinical knowledge of multiple therapeutic categories for drug information research requests (e.g., Diabetes, Respiratory disease, Oncology, Hematology, Neurology)
Present educational information on newly approved and up‑and‑coming drugs to the clinical and non‑clinical teams
Attend internal and external meetings to gain latest information on clinical trials and other details pertaining to drug pipeline

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in pharmacy (BPharm) or Master's equivalent (MPharm)
Registered with the Pharmacy Society of Ireland
Proven experience as a pharmacist in community pharmacy, hospital, clinical, medical information or industry setting
Demonstrated solid written&verbal communication skills that provide accurate and efficient interpretation of complex clinical information translated and summarized for a diverse audience
Proven previous experience in maintaining professional relationships with internal and external partners
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced clinical training (e.g. Residency, Rotational Pharmacist), experience or master’s program
Proven experience in US healthcare system and the role of pharmacy benefit management
Demonstrated strategic thinking and/or project management skills
