Blackrock Health Hermitage Clinic is a private hospital providing a full range of medical and surgical care across a broad spectrum of specialities. The Theatre provides a range of surgical services, and this role is important in making a significant contribution in maintaining Meditech Database.
This role is responsible for the verification of all cases including theatre, Endoscopy, Minors and Cath Lab, and for the up‑to‑date maintenance of the Meditech database.
Key Responsibilities Operations
To ensure all operational timestamps associated with every procedure are completed at point of care in Meditech Theatre, Endoscopy, Minors and Cath lab
All procedures to be verified in a timely manner
Ensure all documents are electronically signed by the end of the day
Perform daily charge reconciliation to ensure all charges generated the previous day
Ensure all procedures are coded appropriately
Maintain all records related to implantable devices
Maintain SUR /MM dictionaries in terms of flagging any implants for tracking
Provide backup cover for theatre scheduler
Participate in audits as required
Maintain all preference cards on the system updating continuously with new items used by consultants and if items are changed / deactivated and replaced with another
Create all new preference cards for new procedures and surgeons
Responsible for setting up new procedures received that have previously not been set up. Only VHI codes are used in Theatre so liaise with Finance to determine if VHI code prior to setting up and to get billing codes– also need to liaise with Scheduler to ensure they use the correct code if it is a non‑VHI code
Quality Improvement and Risk Management Participate in hospital accreditation processes.
Personal&Professional Responsibilities Attend in a timely manner all mandatory education sessions. Maintain a professional portfolio.
Planning and Organisational Skills
Prioritise and plan workload to ensure they
Numeracy, communication and organisational skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
