Summary The

European Development Centre (EDC)

is the home of Microsoft’s engineering organization in Ireland. The EDC plays a critical role in driving engineering excellence, scaling talent, and ensuring compliance with local funding and R&D programs.

The

One Ireland

hiring model underpins how engineering teams across the EDC hire at scale. It relies on strong governance, trained interviewers, clear reporting, and close collaboration between Engineering, Recruitment, Finance, and external partners.

We are seeking an experienced, outcome‑driven

EDC Project Manager

to own and deliver key hiring and compliance programs for the EDC. In this role, you will ensure sufficient interviewer capacity to meet hiring demand through 2026 and 2027, while also leading

R&D Tax Credit and IDA Grant project management

for the site.

As part of Microsoft’s AI transformation, you will also identify and embed

AI‑driven insights and automation

(including Microsoft Copilot) into project and compliance workflows to drive efficiency, accuracy, and scale.

Job Responsibilities Hiring Programs

Own and drive individual projects, creating and managing project plans, milestones, and timelines

Ensure sufficient trained interviewers are available to meet forecasted hiring demand

Provide regular project status updates and executive‑level reporting

Partner closely with Engineering leaders, Recruitment, and outsourced vendors

Interview Skilling

Schedule and manage interviewer training sessions

Track completion of training and interviewer readiness

Measure training satisfaction and effectiveness

Manage the pipeline from training through to interview shadowing and readiness

Interview Availability

Take a programmatic approach to capturing and maintaining a pool of internal interviewers across disciplines and levels

Ensure weekly interviewer availability aligns with hiring demand

Coordinate with Recruitment to ensure interview shadowing takes place post‑training

Partner with One Ireland organisational leaders to drive accountability for interviewer participation

R&D Tax Credits and IDA Grants

Act as the single point of contact for R&D tax credits and grant activities for the EDC site

Liaise with Microsoft engineering teams, Finance, and the external Microsoft company accountancy firmEnsure timely and accurate submission of R&D tax credit and grant documentation

Identify new R&D‑eligible opportunities across basic research, applied research, and experimental development

Lead process improvements for how R&D tax credit information is collected, managed, and reported

Develop strong expertise in the Ireland R&D Tax Credit framework (Part 29‑02‑03)

Reporting, Communication, and Governance

Develop and track suitable OKRs with GTA, Engineering, and recruitment partners

Track scope, schedule, risks, issues, costs, and performance against agreed objectives

Create clear and effective communications including status reports, executive updates, and SharePoint content

Chair project meetings, summarize key actions, and assign ownership

Support monthly EDC onboarding and new employee orientation

Drive issue and risk management to resolution in a timely manner

Requirements

Strong project or program management experience with the ability to drive delivery across multiple stakeholders

Experience working across Engineering, Recruitment, Finance, and external partners

Proven ability to operate independently and take ownership in a contract environment

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including senior leadership

AI‑first mindset with practical experience using Microsoft Copilot or other AI tools to improve processes

Tenacious approach to delivery with high accountability and attention to detail

Location:

Ireland– Hybrid (2-3 days a week Onsite)

Contract Duration:

Until 30 June 2027
