Waste Management/Environmental Compliance Professional, Cork

Our client is a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical site in Cork who have set themselves ambitious global sustainability goals for 2030 and you can play a part to help achieve this.

If you have a background in environmental compliance, especially waste, greenhouse gas emissions and green transport initiatives we’d love to hear from you.

This role is contract-based, with the potential for long‑term continuity. 

Responsibilities

Your primary responsiblity will be Site Waste Management:

You will:Oversee site waste management, including review and approval of new waste outlets and minimization of solid waste streams.Support onsite supervision of waste management contracts.Environmental Compliance Coordination:Lead the management and coordination of site bund testing and visual inspections.Lead the management and coordination of inspections and testing of underground lines (foul, process, and storm water).Management of contractors and subcontractors environmental compliance.

Greenhouse Gas Management:Oversee refrigerant/F-gas management, maintaining and updating the F-gas register.
Lead Green Transport InitiativesTake active role in the Environmental Technical Committee and the site Sustainability Team.Support the implementation and maintenance of Environmental Management Systems:
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in environmental engineering or compliance roles.Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance standards.Excellent project management and organizational skills.Effective communication and leadership abilities.Experience working with regulatory bodies, such as the EPA, is preferred.
