POSITION PURPOSE
To take responsibility for the operational and financial control of The Spa at The Kingsley & Fota Island Spa ensuring complete viability of the spas. To ensure that the highest standards are adhered to, and that guest experience exceeds expectation. To oversee the continued development of the spa systems as the business levels increase, working closely with the Marketing and Sales Departments, this will include the establishment and achievement of marketing objectives, operating criteria, budgeting, ensuring delivery of excellent guest service, and by maximizing the engagement and productivity of the spa teams. You will be based between both locations depending on requirements of the spas.
KEY FUNCTIONS
o To take responsibility for the successful running & development of the spas and to support the Spa Managers in their roles
o To prepare the annual Spa & Health Club Budgets in conjunction with Multi-Property Leisure & Fitness Manager
o To achieve agreed retail & treatment revenue targets through continuously reviewing and analyzing Trybe booking system. To be responsible for motivating and driving sales and establish targets, which are realistic and achievable
o To oversee the cost controls & KPIs of the spas in line with the budget
o To conduct comp set reviews, price analysis, treatment brochure review ensuring the viability of spas through continuous review and development
o To oversee the continuous development & maintenance of the spa facilities and treatment rooms
o To be responsible for the development, administration and updating of Trybe booking system
o To liaise with the Marketing Team & Spa Management teams in the preparation and development of marketing plans for the spas and co-ordination of all promotional plans and projects for the facility
o To oversee KWell | Wellness at The Kingsley including the schedule of wellness activities for staff and coordinating same
o To develop the spa events, including Christmas/Summer Events, Showcase Events, Mindfulness Workshops & Retreats for guests
o To constantly be aware of innovations within the industry and consider their worth. To attend relevant conferences and trade shows
o To oversee and co-ordinate the updating of SOPs and implementation of same to encourage and drive the team to maintain the correct level of professionalism
o To oversee the maintenance and updating of equipment, products, service and standards as required
o To oversee the maintenance and decor of the spa facilities and treatment rooms and ensure they are kept up to standard. To work with the Maintenance Managers on all projects related to the facilities
o To implement, update and oversee the running of the Therapist Care Program
o To implement, update and oversee the Development Programme for individual team members
o To prepare a monthly Spa Calendar outlining all relevant activities, training and projects
o Oversee procedures and standards of the guest journey
o To attend the weekly Management Meetings
o Preparation of a monthly report for the Multi-Property General Manager to include Budget and P&L figures, Monthly Spa Calendar, Spa Development Plan, Treatment Assessment Updates, Revinate Scoring, Compliance Training Update

o To interact professionally with guests, members, and associates.
o To ensure that the Health and Safety Policy and Procedures are implemented and monitored in particular with relation to cleanliness and hygiene
o To manage absence and disciplinary issues in correlation with HR
o To work closely with HR through inductions, staffing, policies and procedures
o Ensure grooming of all spa associates is standard according to the Fota Collection policies
o To be responsible for instigating progressive, professional and well organised training and assessment of staff and to conduct performance appraisals as required
o Staff Wellbeing Checks & Appraisals
o Ensure GDPR policies are being adhered to
o Quarterly meetings with Spa Therapists, Reception & Spa Attendants
o To motivate, encourage and drive the team, and to maintain the correct level of professional and qualified personnel
o To perform any other duties deemed reasonable by the General Manager.
Other:
o Regular attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
o Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
o Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with The Fota Collection rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel's facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
o All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per The Fota Collection standards.
o Assist with special projects as needed.
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
o Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
o Must possess intermediate computer skills
o Ability to prepare and analyze data figures and reports
o Ability to lead, develop & motivate a team
o Must be experienced in Beauty/Spa Therapy
o Minimum 5 years previous experience in a Senior Spa position (including min 3 in a Spa Manager role)
o Basic first aid, manual handling and fire awareness training
