Principal Specialist Psychologist– GHIFT Provide psychological assessment and therapeutic services to children and adolescents with gastroenterological conditions and their families at the National Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Intestinal failure and transplant service. Work closely with medical and multidisciplinaryteams to deliver education, psychological assessments and interventions for conditions such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease, hepatological disease&transplant, intestinal failure and rehabilitation, and other gastroenterological conditions.

Responsibilities

Deliver psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions for paediatric patients in the GHIFT service.

Collaborate with medical and multidisciplinary teams to provide education and support to patients and families.

Conduct clinical audits and contribute to research efforts related to paediatric gastroenterology and hepatology.

Maintain professional knowledge and manage duties in accordance with professional standards.

Essential Requirements

Recognised honours degree in psychology.

Recognised postgraduate qualification in clinical or counselling psychology.

Minimum eight years postgraduate experience in clinical or counselling psychology, including at least three years at senior grade.

For training completed outside Ireland, qualification validated by the Department of Health and Children.

Extensive pediatric psychology training and experience relevant to GHIFT specialty.

Postgraduate experience working in an acute hospital setting.

Demonstrated competence in clinical audit and research skills.

Knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of duties.
