Music Therapist- Part Time (8hrs pw), Dublin Pike

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate

Music Therapist

to join our clinical team at Saint Doolaghs Park House Dublin 17, D17 CY54. The successful candidate will deliver both individual and group sessions using music therapy techniques to support movement, communication, cognition, social engagement, emotional wellbeing, and overall rehabilitation for clients with neurological needs.

This is a part time role for 4 hours two days per week at least 1 day, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Assessment and Care Planning

– Carry out comprehensive clinical assessments, including detailed documentation, to identify each client’s abilities, challenges, and therapeutic objectives.

One‑to‑One Music Therapy

– Provide individualised music therapy sessions tailored to specific therapeutic targets, including communication support and emotional and psychological support.

Group‑Based Music Therapy

– Lead group music therapy sessions, typically involving 6‑8 participants, and develop a supportive, engaging environment that encourages connection, participation, and collective therapeutic progress.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration and Administration

– Collaborate with health and social care professionals to provide coordinated and holistic client support, maintain clear, accurate clinical records, contribute to service development and planning, and commit to ongoing professional development and best‑practice standards in music therapy and neurologic music therapy.

Qualifications and Experience

An accredited degree in Music Therapy

High‑level musical competence, either vocal or instrumental

Previous experience working with individuals with neurological conditions, acquired brain injury, or complex support needs is desirable

Strong communication, interpersonal, and reflective practice skills

A clear commitment to ethical, person‑centred, and evidence‑informed practice
