About the role Data Centre Shift Operations Mechanical AP
– a key position within our Data Centre Operations, responsible for best‑in‑class operation and maintenance of customers’ critical power generation sites. The role focuses on system monitoring, procedure implementation, equipment checks, maintenance, and repairs in a mission‑critical environment.
Responsibilities
Monitor customer assets to maximise efficiency in line with contractual terms.
Manage and prioritise incoming event notifications to comply with contractual obligations.
Provide professional, concise communication to internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain accurate records of all tasks performed using the monitoring tool and asset management system.
Ensure a thorough handover between shift teams to maintain continuity of safe operations and knowledge of activities.
Work efficiently in an SLA‑driven team environment.
Conduct daily site inspections of mechanical and electrical engineering systems and technical equipment.
Ensure the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
Respond to Building Management System alarms and complete emergency actions according to agreed procedures.
Issue permits and oversee third‑party vendors, ensuring compliance with company processes, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
Produce reports detailing asset availability and performance patterns.
Adhere to all applicable company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
Support the maintenance team during maintenance activities.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a mission‑critical or power generation environment.
Good IT literacy and the ability to write and develop documents, SOPs/EOPs.
Desirable knowledge of CMMS (Maintenance Management Systems). Not essential.
Understanding of LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out) practices, hazardous energy and permit systems.
NFQ L6 (Tradesperson) qualification in a mechanical discipline or equivalent technical field will be considered.
Engineering degree is desirable but not essential.
