Programme Director in Masters in Procurement and Supply Chain Management

Job Summary The Programme Director (PD) provides academic leadership to ensure the effective delivery of academic programmes and an excellent learner experience. The role involves programme coordination, quality assurance, learner support, academic integrity, and collaboration with academic teams, administration, industry partners, and students.

The PD contributes to programme development, teaching, research, and continuous improvement while supporting learner progression, retention, and academic excellence.

Job Responsibilities General

Provide academic leadership in teaching, learning, programme delivery, and academic integrity.

Contribute to programme development and new academic initiatives.

Support learner progression, retention, and satisfaction.

Participate in programme, departmental, and external meetings and committees.

Engage in research and professional activities that enhance the College’s reputation.

Ensure compliance with relevant PSRB requirements.

Teaching&Learning

Deliver modules as required.

Support lecturers in engaging students through virtual learning platforms such as Moodle.

Students / Pastoral Care

Act as a key contact for students regarding academic, pastoral, and administrative matters.

Support learner progression, attendance, and engagement.

Work with class representatives to ensure effective learner representation.

Provide guidance on career development, placements, and support services.

Dissertations (where relevant)

Oversee dissertation processes, including supervision, workshops, marking, and viva voce examinations.

Lead Programme Committee activities and ensure compliance with quality assurance policies.

Support recruitment and development of lecturing staff.

Conduct annual programme and module reviews and prepare Annual Programme Reports.

Support lecturers with assessment design, pedagogy, Moodle, and academic integrity.

Coordinate timetabling, lecturer appointments, inductions, examination boards, and programme operations.

Promote teamwork, communication, and engagement within programme teams.

Administration

Engage with learner management systems and monitor learner progression.

Liaise with Academic Administration, Marketing, and relevant teams regarding recruitment, registration, progression, and examinations.

Review learner requests in line with quality assurance policies.Attend programme and College meetings and ensure compliance with institutional policies.

Induction, Graduation and College Events

Support marketing initiatives, open evenings, inductions, graduations, and College events.

Assist with graduation planning and coordination.

Promote the programme and College through outreach and engagement activities.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience Required

NFQ qualification one level above the programme(s) level or equivalent experience.

Significant higher education lecturing experience, ideally including programme management.

Strong subject knowledge and commitment to teaching excellence.

Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to learner support, educational quality, and teamwork.

Experience in education, industry, or related management roles is desirable.

Must be legally entitled to work full-time in Ireland.
