This is an exciting opportunity to deliver key Offshore projects. Offshore delivery is critical to Ireland from many aspects including the achievement of our renewable targets and to the continuation of sustainable economic growth for the country. The role involves the project management and project engineering of technically complex, large‑scale offshore asset management projects – on‑time and within budget, adhering to established governance and controls. The role holder will work on projects across their entire life cycle – from project initiation, through construction, commissioning/user acceptance testing, go live and right up to project close/lessons learnt.A core part of this role will involve the issuing of functional and technical specifications to both Phase 1&Phase 2 Offshore developer‑led / EirGrid plan‑led projects and liaising with these external and internal stakeholders to resolve technical queries to ensure connections to the transmission system are in accordance with EirGrid’s Offshore specifications. These projects are critical to Ireland from many aspects includingthe achievement of our renewable targets and to the continuation of sustainable economic growth for the country.The Team

The CTTO is responsible for driving innovation, digital transformation, and strategic technology delivery across EirGrid. It plays a central role in enabling the organisation to meet its decarbonisation and infrastructure goals through the deployment of modern systems, data intelligence, and programme governance frameworks. The Offshore Phase 1 team sits within this office, ensuring alignment between technology strategy and offshore programme execution.The Offshore Engineering function is responsible for undertaking project design reviews / site inspections on both contestable and non‑contestable transmission projects to ensure that projects are developed in accordance with EirGrid functional specification and standards. About You

Engineering degree or equivalent, typically with 8 years relevant experience with a holistic understanding of the power industry Proven experience of managing a portfolio of large‑scale asset management projects – overseeing the delivery of complex solutions and an ability to drive successful outcomesHV transmission design expertise and will be able to assess HV transmission designs for conformity to standards and requirements Excellent communicator, able to articulate technical concepts and analysis to non‑technical audiences and business leaders Ability to coach and develop high‑performance capabilities in a changing and dynamic environmentExpertise in conceiving and introducing innovative ideas, solutions or new ways of doing things to solve business problems, collaborating with business experts along the way Strong understanding of the requirements of stakeholders and industry for the transmission system and associated developmentsCommercial awareness with strong vendor management skills Full driver’s licence Closing date for applications: 12th June 2026.
