Safety Advisor– Demolition&Decommissioning Project Location: Marina, Cork (Full-Time Onsite) Duration: 7 Months Start Date: Mid–End June 2026 Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to support a major demolition and decommissioning project at Marina Generation Station in Cork City Centre. This is a client-side safety assurance role working closely with engineering, environmental, and contractor teams on a high-risk live project environment.The role will focus on driving strong safety performance, contractor compliance, asbestos management coordination, and environmental safety assurance across all phases of the demolition works. Key Responsibilities
Provide visible onsite safety leadership and day-to-day safety engagement Monitor contractor compliance with Health&Safety, asbestos, and environmental legislation Review contractor RAMS, permits, and safety documentation for high-risk activities Support asbestos management activities and coordinate with specialist asbestos consultants Monitor environmental and waste management compliance including segregation, storage, and disposal practicesParticipate in site inspections, audits, safety walks, and close‑out actions Support incident, near‑miss, and prevention‑focused learning initiatives Provide regular updates to project leadership on safety performance, trends, and emerging risks Work closely with ESB Engineering&Major Projects and contractor teams to reinforce a strong project-wide safety culture Required Experience&Skills
Minimum 10 years’ Health&Safety experience within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects Strong knowledge of asbestos management and asbestos removal regulations Strong understanding of Health&Safety legislation, standards, and codes of practice Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills Experience operating within dynamic, high‑risk site environments Ability to work independently and proactively onsite Strong contractor safety assurance experience Demolition or decommissioning project experienceClient‑side safety assurance experience Engineering or project management background Utilities, energy, or industrial project experience BOHS 405 – Management of Asbestos in Buildings qualification Qualifications
Level 7 qualification in Health&Safety (essential) SafePass and Manual Handling certification required Additional Information
Full‑time onsite role based at Marina, Cork Start date expected mid‑to‑end June 2026 PPE and site safety compliance mandatory Candidates must provide their own phone, laptop/PC, and internet access
