Permanent whole-time post UCC wishes to appoint a Technical Officer in the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences (BEES). Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, the postholder will support the delivery of School teaching activities, particularly in relation to the Plant Science discipline. They will also maintain the School's glasshouses and other plant growth facilities; plan, prepare and assist in the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate laboratory classes; provide technical support and training for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes; manage (where relevant) the purchase and maintenance of consumables, chemicals, equipment and supplies; support field studies; implement and monitor safety procedures and risk assessments within laboratories and workshops and ensure that good laboratory and field practices and procedures are followed. Appointment may be made on the Technical Officer Salary Scale:€49,422 - €67,619 (Scale B) / €51,883 - €64,351 (Scale A). Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
