About The Role Goodbody is continuing to expand its Advisory capability and is seeking a Director to play a central role within our Client Advisory business. This position combines senior client advisory responsibility with leadership of a high‑performing advisory team, delivering a consistent, holistic, and planning‑led service to High‑Net‑Worth clients. It is a senior client advisory role with responsibility for client proposition excellence, team development, and advisory governance, working closely with stakeholders across theWealth Management business. The role reports to the Senior Director, Client Advisory.
Key Responsibilities Client Advisory Leadership&Delivery
Lead, manage, and develop a team of advisors responsible for delivering high‑quality, holistic advisory and wealth planning services to clients across all risk profiles and life stages.
Foster a culture of professionalism, collaboration, judgement, and continuous improvement within the Advisory team.
Ensure advice delivery is consistently aligned with client goals, risk profiles, mandates, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
Client Strategy&Holistic Wealth Planning
Oversee client discovery, planning, and review processes for HNW clients, ensuring an integrated approach across investment strategy, tax‑aware structuring, estate considerations, liquidity events, and intergenerational planning.
Work closely with internal specialists across tax, pensions, financial planning, and investment strategy to deliver cohesive, whole‑of‑client solutions.
Investment Alignment&Oversight
Partner with the Investment team to ensure client portfolios reflect each client’s broader wealth plan, long‑term objectives, and agreed risk profile.
Ensure all portfolio actions and advice are consistent with suitability, appropriateness, and governance standards.
Client Transitions&Proposition Development
Lead the team through client transitions to the appropriate advisory service or segment, ensuring a smooth, well‑communicated client experience.
Contribute actively to the design and ongoing evolution of Goodbody’s advisory proposition, drawing on client insights and international best practice.
Support the development of advisory content, events, and communications that clearly articulate Goodbody’s advisory value proposition.
Tax Awareness&Planning Coordination
Act as an internal point of expertise on Irish taxation of investments, including CAT considerations, Section 72/73 policies, and retirement relief.
Identify client cases requiring specialist tax or structuring input and coordinate effectively with internal experts or trusted external advisors.
Business Growth&Commercial Responsibility
Contribute to the sustainable growth of funds under management, revenue, and overall client engagement within the Advisory business.
Support responsible cross‑selling across Goodbody services, including discretionary management, financial planning, pensions, and alternative investments.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external centres of influence to support long‑term advisory growth.
Governance, Risk&Compliance
Uphold the highest standards of governance, suitability, and risk management across the Advisory team.
Ensure compliance with regulatory expectations, Goodbody policies, and internal control frameworks.
Maintain personal compliance with Fitness&Probity requirements and promote a strong risk culture within the team.
Qualifications And Experience
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in wealth management, private banking, or financial advisory.
Proven experience leading or developing high‑performing advisory or client‑facing teams.
Strong track record advising HNW clients and managing complex, multi‑dimensional client relationships.
CFP qualification required (or international equivalent).
QFA / SIA as minimum regulatory requirement.
Tax qualification (AITI CTA or Diploma in Tax for Financial Planning) is highly advantageous.
Deep understanding of financial markets, planning frameworks, and the Irish regulatory environment.
