Senior Mechanical Design Engineer– Modular Offsite Manufacturing Silent Aire – Dublin

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will play a key technical role within the Modular Design Engineering Team, responsible for the end‑to‑end mechanical design of off‑site‑manufactured, factory‑built modular systems. These include modular data centres, packaged MEP plantrooms, and skid‑mounted mechanical assemblies.What you will do

The role requires proven experience in off‑site manufacturing and modular construction, with designs developed specifically for Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA), factory assembly, testing, certification, transportation, and repeatable deployment across global regions. How you will do it

Lead the mechanical design of modular plantrooms, packaged MEP systems, and modular data centre solutions. Develop chilled water, pumping, and heat rejection systems suitable for mission‑critical environments. Produce and review P&IDs, schematics, GA drawings, technical specifications, and Descriptions of Operation. Design systems specifically for off‑site manufacturing and DfMA principles. Ensure designs are optimised for factory assembly, testing, transportation, and repeatability. Interface with manufacturing, quality, commissioning, suppliers, clients, and certification bodies.Support technical submittals, design reviews, and third‑party approvals. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Occasional travel to manufacturing facilities or project sites may be required. What we look for

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 8+ years experience in mechanical building services or industrial MEP design. Demonstrable experience in off‑site manufacturing and modular construction (core requirement). Experience delivering modular or packaged mechanical systems for data centres or other mission‑critical facilities.Strong expertise in chilled water systems, pumping, and thermal management. Experience producing factory‑ready design documentation suitable for fabrication and testing. Chartered Engineer or working toward chartership. Experience working across multiple regions (EU, US, Middle East). Desirable Experience

Experience with liquid‑cooled data centre systems. Familiarity with UL / cURus, CE, PED, ASHRAE, EN, and ISO standards.
