About This Opportunity We are hiring a 6G Researcher (Radio Protocol Standardization) with a strong interest in applied research, natural curiosity, and the ability to thrive in interacting with a global industry research community. The role focuses on evolving radio access network technologies and standards by developing a new research concept and achieving acceptance by a technical committee. This role supports Ericsson's mission and vision to be a technology leader in shaping tomorrow’s mobile communication networks.
What You Will Do
Develop concepts for Ericsson to contribute in the 3GPP RAN2 working group.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical specifications and create the 6G RAN standard supporting Ericsson’s radio chipset and software development.
Be part of a team developing novel concepts and working with standardization delegates to prepare standard contributions.
Collaborate with industry experts and stakeholders both internally and externally to shape the future of mobile communications.
You will bring
Proven experience in carrying out independent research by developing simulation tools and by designing, running, and analyzing simulations to evaluate performance.
Proficiency in technical documentation and presentation skills in English.
Ability to clearly convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
5+ years of proven experience in evolving radio access network technologies or standards.
PhD degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Deep knowledge of 5G NR functionality, including RAN algorithms such as MIMO, scheduling, beamforming, IoT, RRM and AI.
Good understanding of 5G RAN network products and deployments.
Understanding of the 3GPP standardization processes.
Proven strong initiative and drive, proactively identifying opportunities and taking ownership to deliver results.
Proven track record of fostering collaboration in a multidisciplinary environment leading to successful project outcomes.
Ability to collaborate across organizations within a global company.
Expectation (first 3, 6&12 months)&Career path
After 3-6 months you are established in the team and contribute to the team effort. After 12 months you are expected to be established as a technical authority for a sub-domain within the standardization area.
