Responsibilities
The role will involve planning and design of road safety, road safety engineering projects, public transport and active travel projects throughout Ireland, input to statutory processes (Part 8, Section 38, EIAR, CPO etc), procurement processes and preparation of contract documents.
The work will involve but not limited to support to a key Client managing sections of the National Road Network.
Qualifications
Relevant experience in a consultancy environment.
Educated to degree level in engineering (Level 8/9).
Already chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
Computer literate and with experience of relevant design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads etc).
Knowledge of relevant design standard and ability to translate this knowledge into practical, buildable and value for money designs.
Experience in the compilation of Feasibility and Options (F&O) Reports.
Experience in planning and design of road safety schemes (preferably in Ireland) including feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, statutory processes, preparation of and contract documents.
Deep understanding of Irish road safety standards and approvals procedures.
Road Safety Audit Team Member status is desirable but not essential.
Full Irish / EU driving licence.
Excellent inter‑personal, written and verbal communication skills.
Flexible approach with ability to be able to multi‑task and prioritise as required.
Positive outlook and approachable manner.
Highly motivated to achieve personal and company goals.

Able to work as part of a team or individually as required.
