Mechanical Design Engineer Agricultural Engineering (Cork) Talent Curve Recruitment is managing an exclusive search for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a premier, family-owned agricultural engineering firm in Co. Cork. This is a key R&D role focused on the design and manufacture of innovative livestock handling solutions. Core Responsibilities Design: Develop complex 3D models and assemblies for livestock systems using SolidWorks. Innovation: Lead the R&D phase for new product lines, prioritising safety and durability. Integration: Work with the production floor (Laser, Robot Welding) to optimise designs for manufacturability (DFM). Documentation: Manage detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical assembly manuals. Validation: Perform FEA and stress analysis to ensure structural integrity for industrial use. Prototyping: Assist in building and testing prototypes through field trials. Candidate Profile Education: Degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering (Level 7 or 8). Experience: 35 years in a mechanical design role, ideally within Agri-Tech or Steel Fabrication. Software: Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks is essential. Knowledge: Strong understanding of steel fabrication, welding standards, and material properties. Logistics: Full, clean Irish driving licence.
