We are looking for a qualified and experienced Senior Estimator to become part of our team. The Senior Estimator will be essential during the pre‑construction phase, delivering precise cost estimates and ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on time. This role encompasses everything from estimating to handover and is focused on commercial and client aspects. A thorough knowledge of construction processes, materials, and market trends is necessary for this position.
Role description
Managing all aspects of the Quantity Surveying and Estimating process
Develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for modular construction project
Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates
Manage and develop Assistant Estimator
Cost Management of the project
Opening up new business opportunities with industry professional and clients
Preparing monthly project payment applications and cost reports
Develop detailed bid proposals and present estimates to management for review
Monitor project costs throughout the bidding process to ensure competitiveness
Maintain organised records of all estimates, assumptions, and supporting documentation
Work with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing information
Identify potential cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards
Assist in analysing project risks and incorporating contingency allowances as necessary
Keep abreast of market trends, new materials, and construction techniques that may impact costs
Suitable candidates should have
Degree in QS
A minimum of 5‑7 years of experience in estimating within the modular construction sector is preferred; however, at least 5‑7 years of experience in estimating within the broader construction industry is required.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite programmes.
Effective communication skills to liaise with suppliers, clients, and team members.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Knowledge of cost control principles and practices is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
