Responsibilities
Lead the income tax function (350+ clients across a number of industries), ensuring accurate and timely filing and payment of all returns.
Provide guidance on tax obligations, identify issues, and recommend compliant solutions.
Analyse records and previous filings to develop effective tax strategies and verify documentation accuracy.
Handle correspondence with clients and tax authorities, gathering all required tax‑related information.
Supervise trainees, review their work, and share relevant legislative updates.
Contribute to wider Tax Department needs and maintain strong client relationships.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years in a tax or accounting practice with strong knowledge of current tax legislation.
Experience in Sage Taxpro, ROS, and Microsoft Office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Experience supervising or mentoring trainees, demonstrating initiative and sound judgement.
Salary / Benefits
Annual Salary of€50,000–€55,000 DOE
Up to 10% annual bonus

Our client, an established medium sized accountancy practice that has been providing advisory and compliance services they are seeking to recruit a tax accountant (Compliance). The firm supports a wide range of clients, including SMEs, sole traders, and larger organisations across multiple sectors. The successful candidate will join the Tax Department and take a lead role in managing income tax compliance and client advisory work. The successful candidate will be supported by the practice to progress within the department.
