Senior Data Engineer (Perm, Ireland, Hybrid)

This is a permanent full‑time opportunity based in Ireland, requiring up to 1 week per month travel to Germany.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms, pipelines, and warehouses using SQL, Python, Spark, and related technologies.

Develop and maintain ETL processes for large‑scale data ingestion and transformation.

Implement and support data warehousing solutions that support analytics and business intelligence needs.

Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of data storage solutions.

Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business needs into engineering solutions.

Maintain data quality, governance, and compliance across all systems.

Support CI/CD processes for data pipeline deployments, including DevOps best practices.

Conduct code reviews and enforce version control and testing best practices.

Assist in defining source code management and deployment processes.

Work with Technical Leaders for project execution and delivery.

Collaborate with client teams.

Qualifications

At least 6 years of commercial experience as a Senior Data Engineer.

Experience delivering in an agile environment.

Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark for large‑scale data processing.

Experience with Databricks.

Strong knowledge of data warehousing technologies (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or similar).

Experience with distributed data processing frameworks (Spark, Hadoop, or similar).

Deep understanding of ETL, data modeling, and schema design.

Experience with cloud‑based data solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data lake architectures.

Experience with CI/CD automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Proficiency with version control tools (e.g., Git) and collaborative workflows.

Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance best practices.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Professional proficiency in English.

Must hold a valid passport for travel.
