Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career. Hours of work: 19.5 hours per week (we deliver services across 7 days/ 365 days a year) We are looking for a receptionist/front of house worker, who can work as a team player with the wider team and ensure that clients are welcomed and made feel safe with empathy and understanding. These are some of the duties you will undertake in the role:Actively manage the reception area, ensuring it remains secure, tidy, and safe. This may include monitoring entrance points, operating security systems, and following protocols regarding visitor access and safety records. Provide information on available services, answer questions, and refer clients to relevant staff members such as support workers.Work closely with refuge staff to ensure seamless service delivery (e.g., assist Day&Night Support workers with clients where necessary, such as shopping, child minding, etc.). Handle telephone calls, emails, and post, taking messages and distributing information. Handle sensitive, sometimes distressing situations with calmness, patience, and professional discretion. Accept and take in donations of goods from the public and record them.Be alert to concerns or needs of clients and report to the appropriate person within the refuge. About you You have some prior experience in a front-desk, customer-facing, or administrative role (not strict requirement). You have strong verbal and written communication skills. Some knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to use database systems.You are able to work and interact with vulnerable, diverse populations with patience, empathy, and respect. You are able to adhere strictly to our data protection and confidentiality policies. You are willing to participate in all training related to the position and work of the Refuge. You must be willing to participate in supervision sessions with the CE Supervisor, who will support you in the role and help identify training and education needs to assist your role and future employment opportunities.Drogheda Women&Children’s Refuge
