Construction - Electrician Industrial Kilkenny The main duties and responsibilities of the Industrial Electrician are outlined as follows:
Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental&Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are always adhered to on-site.
Support project delivery teams in the development and preparation of commissioning test documentation.
Responsible for delivery and commissioning of small to large sized Electrical installations.
Installation and commissioning of different types of instrumentation and equipment.
Installation of Pumps and associated VSD and controls.
Be able to read and understand working drawings and Schematics.
Conduct initial power‑up of MCC’s and complete rotation checks on motors and I/O point‑to‑point checks (dry testing).
Set up instrumentation in the field and scale instrument 4‑20 mA signals back to PLC; calibrate any instruments requiring field calibration.
Provide supervision of suppliers and sub‑contractors as well as site‑based staff.
Coordinate with the project team and Service&Maintenance Dept. as required.
Work with Process Engineers to optimise and improve the process performance of water and wastewater infrastructure.
Complete all commissioning documentation, including pre‑test inspections, commissioning sheets and SAT documentation.
Proactively review and monitor your own work schedule and ability to work on your own initiative is essential.
Some Wastewater&Water process awareness would be beneficial.
Electrical systems fault finding and recertification.
Attend third‑party Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) as required and provide acceptance sign‑off on behalf of the company.
Complete preliminary installation checks and provide completion snag lists to mechanical and electrical sub‑contractors.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Trade qualified in Electrical or E&I RECI (or equivalent) certified electrician with 5 years post‑apprenticeship work experience.
Mechanical experience is a distinct advantage.
Experience in Water/Wastewater is a distinct advantage.
Experienced in the commissioning and process proving of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (MEICA) systems.
Ability to liaison directly with customers on commissioning activities and sign‑off.
Safe Pass.
Manual Handling Certificate.
Full clean driving licence.
Candidate Requirements Essential
Minimum experience required (years): 1
Minimum qualification: Level 6 (incl. Higher Advanced Certificate&National Craft Certificate)
Desirable
Ability skills: Communications, Customer Service, Manual, Skilled Trade(s)
Competency skills: Problem Solving, Teamwork, Time Management, Working on own initiative
Driving licence: Full B
