Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for Decarbonisation&EMD, Dublin

Opportunity to join leading energy organisation, hybrid working, 35-hour week based either in Cork or Dunlin offices Work on organisation’s Decarbonisation Projects and will have responsibility for the detailed design of the Electric Machine Drive Compressors and associated components such as suction and discharge pipework, coolers, metering etc.Manage the mechanical design of the EMD and also input into the technical aspects of the tendering process. Maintain levels of expertise ensuring engineering excellence through the engineering design process. All design work whether completed in house or by approved entities follows the requirements of org.’s Engineering Design Manual.Work closely with other Senior Designers to ensure alignment of the design process, procedures, methodology to ensure consistency of design across the network. Experience

Level 8 Eng. Degree with working knowledge of Construction and H&S regulations, risk management practice e.g. hazard identification&design risk assessment. Ideally knowledge of HAZOP/HAZID/HAZCON, Functional Safety, Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), ALARP principles. Knowledge of public&utility procurement. Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, problem solving, in a timely fashion, along with the ability to communicate complex information to others.
