Post Summary The School of Mathematics is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor in High‑performance Computing. The successful candidate will have demonstrated exceptional research promise in Computational Mathematics/Numerical Analysis with experience in High‑performance Computing applications. The School seeks to augment existing strengths in both Mathematics and Theoretical Physics by building computational and high‑performance computing expertise while complementing work of Lattice and ANLA groups.
Responsibilities The post combines research and teaching; the appointee will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education and supervision, including students on the School's taught MSc degree in High Performance Computing. They should be able to offer or develop lectures complementary to those in our existing M.Sc. in HPC.
Qualifications Exceptional research promise in computational mathematics, numerical analysis, high‑performance computing. Experience in HPC applications. Ability to secure research funding. Ability to develop teaching materials for MSc HPC modules.
Post Status Tenure track– 5 years in the first instance, permanency subject to satisfying tenure requirements.
Hours of Post Hours of work for academic staff are those as prescribed under Public Service Agreements. See: Appointment will be on the Assistant Professor Salary Scale (109) commensurate with qualifications / experience and in line with Public Sector Pay Policy (€43,425 to €103,582 per annum).
