Who we want The Defence Forces is looking for talented and motivated musicians who would relish the challenges offered by a career in military music. Musicians must be multi‑talented performers with experience in several musical styles, and must be able to adapt to all types of performance situations and to diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Perform as a musician in concerts, ceremonies, parades and national commemoration events.
Collaborate to create high quality musical performances.
Represent the Defence Forces with integrity and professionalism.
Participate in rehearsals and maintain a high level of musical proficiency.
Professional Qualifications
Proficiency in one or more musical instruments.
Previous experience in a band or ensemble is preferred.
Ability to read music and follow direction from conductors.
A commitment to music and teamwork.
Age Requirements Candidates must be above 18 years of age and under 39 years of age on the date of application.

Collins Barracks, Cork
Custume Barracks, Athlone
Cathal Brugha Barracks, Rathmines, Dublin
