Your new company Your new company is a successful, modern Building Services Consultancy that has been operating for in excess of 20 years, providing dynamic solutions for their clients across commercial and residential projects. As they enter an accelerated growth phase across several business sectors, they are recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer. They put a strong emphasis on staff, learning and development, and progression. The office is in Centrepoint Business Park, with 4 days in the office and Fridays working from home. Your new role You will be assisting other engineers by helping and encouraging graduates and less experienced engineers.Preparation of design and contract documentation and specificationsDesigning and reviewing the design work of intermediate and junior engineersDesign of systems including but not limited to maximum demand calculations, cable sizing, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, ICT systems, security systems, and vertical transportCoordination of work with all members of design teams (architects, engineers of all disciplines, Q.S., etc.)Attend Weekly Design Team meetingsWork with Project managersMark up of drawingsEnsuring that all designs and documents are prepared to the highest standardsCompiling project & design studies reports What you’ll need to succeed Degree in Electrical Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering with several years of post-qualification design experienceTechnically excellent with in-depth knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, including extensive knowledge of IS10101 and ET101:2008 National rules for Electrical InstallationsGood communication and report-writing skills have the initiative to work alone.Experience in leading design teams and a proven team playerAbility to deliver projects on time and within budgetWorking competency in design software: Dialux, Amtech, Revit, CAD What you get in return A competitive hourly rateExcellent career progression in a company that supports your personal and professional development, through internal and external CPDEarly finish on a FridayGreat culture and company social clubClose working relationship with senior managers and directors
