Who You'll Work With

In most content writing positions, writers are dropped in at the end of the product lifecycle to document what developers have produced. We know that text is central to how users interact with software and that effective communication needs to be built in from the beginning. As a writer and researcher for Arista’s CloudVision networking software, you’ll participate actively in product development–working alongside developers, designers, and field engineers to deliver features that prioritize the user experience. As a result, there’s ample opportunity to grow in this role and make it your own. You’ll gain a broad understanding of CloudVision and related Arista products, develop areas of expertise, identify ways in which content can deliver real impact, craft proposals, and oversee implementation of new features and internal tools.

What You'll Do

In this dynamic role, you’ll:

Create, revise, and audit text on the CloudVision user interfaceWrite, revise, and research Help Center articles on product features and workflowsContribute to the CloudVision content style guideInterview engineers on product features and offer feedbackCollaborate with and support the design teamLearn and research computer networking in detail - no previous knowledge is required!Continually improve and build on your expanding skillsetHelp spearhead the direction we take with content writingUse Git, HTML, and CSS to write directly in our code repositories

What You’ll Need

Great content is produced only with a deep understanding of the topic, which means that beyond being a stellar writer you’ll have a passion for learning and acquiring new knowledge. You’ll also have the confidence to ask questions, to really probe at matters, and to continually step outside your comfort zone. The ability to analyse and breakdown complex systems is a core skill, as is the creativity and versatility needed to work through problems and see better solutions.

We’re open to different experience levels, but this is a writing position and it is essential to have a well-crafted CV as part of your application. Be sure to demonstrate your ability to write and research and your capacity and desire to learn. It isn’t necessary to have any knowledge of networking or the technical skills (Git, HTML, and CSS), because we provide thorough and effective training.
