Overview
Our client, a leading organisation operating within Ireland’s environmental and sustainability sector, is seeking to recruit a Compliance Executive to play a key role in supporting the delivery of a national regulatory programme.
Working within a collaborative Compliance Unit, this position focuses on coordinating compliance activities, supporting investigations, and ensuring effective engagement with stakeholders and enforcement bodies. Role Summary
The Compliance Executive will take a central coordination role within the Compliance Unit, ensuring that compliance, fraud, and enforcement-related activities are effectively managed, prioritised and delivered.
The role involves cross-functional coordination, stakeholder engagement, reporting and continuous improvement, while supporting compliance processes and enforcement actions in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Coordination & Operations
Coordinate and monitor Compliance Unit activities, ensuring work is prioritised and delivered effectively.Organise and lead regular team meetings, tracking actions and ensuring timely issue resolution.Identify risks, issues or delays and take proactive steps to address them.Provide support across the team as required to maintain service levels and operational continuity.Manage and coordinate escalation cases, including referrals to relevant authorities.Programme Delivery & Reporting
Support the development and delivery of an annual compliance programme, including targeted initiatives and campaigns.Collate and analyse data to report on compliance performance and outcomes.Prepare reports, updates and presentations for internal stakeholders and external partners.Maintain accurate records and reporting documentation across compliance activities.Stakeholder & Partner Management
Act as a key point of contact for third-party service providers and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and local authorities.Build and maintain strong working relationships to support compliance and enforcement activity.Coordinate responses to external queries, inspections and information requests.Promote awareness and understanding of compliance requirements and initiatives.Policy, Training & Continuous Improvement
Coordinate and deliver training initiatives for internal teams and external stakeholders.Maintain and update compliance policies, procedures and QMS documentation.Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and ways of working.Support the implementation of best practice in compliance and governance.Enforcement & Administration Support
Support enforcement processes in collaboration with external authorities where required.Represent the Compliance Unit in internal and external forums and meetings.Provide administrative support to ensure effective functioning of the Compliance Unit.Key Requirements
Essential
Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience developing or maintaining policies and procedures.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Full clean driver’s licence and access to own transport.Eligibility to work full-time in Ireland.Desirable
Experience in a compliance, regulatory, coordination or operational role.Experience working with Local Authorities or enforcement agencies.Exposure to environmental schemes, waste management or regulatory frameworks.Experience supporting compliance programmes or governance frameworks.Personal Attributes
