Post ID: 039175 Post Summary: The Virtual Trinity Library (VTL) is a philanthropically funded, programme of projects to deliver cataloguing, conservation and digitisation of the Library’s unique and distinct collections. The work of this VTL Project Photographer post is the digitisation of priority works from the Library’s Arabic and Islamic Manuscripts Collection and Medieval Manuscripts Collection. The works to be digitised by this post will be detailed in the project documentation, and digitisation from the two project streams may run in parallel. The post-holder photographs the materials to create digital surrogates, adhering to international standards and following local procedures for a steady throughput. Post status: 2 year- Fixed-Term Contract This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years. The duration of this contract is limited to the above fixed-term period as the role has been newly established to photograph identified priority works in order to create digital surrogates of content from the ‘Arabic and Islamic Manuscripts’ Collection & ‘Medieval Manuscripts Collection, amongst other relevant duties tied to these collections. The scope of works to be photographed is defined in the approved project documentation for the Virtual Trinity Library. Employment is not offered on an indefinite duration basis, as the role exists solely to deliver the above digitisation outputs, which will be completed within the defined timeframe above. These projects are externally funded by philanthropic donors. Therefore, termination of this contract will occur on the designated date, or if the funding stream is terminated or withdrawn by the philanthropic donors. Hours of Post: 36.5 hours per week Salary: This appointment will be made on the Technical Officer Merged Salary Scale (€40,743 - €61,557 per annum). at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
