Senior Piping Design Checker, Dublin

Due to our on-going success securing large-scale projects, we have a requirement for a Senior Design Checker to join our Dublin piping department. It is a key role which will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and compliance of our designs. You will work closely with our design and engineering teams to check and review design deliverables.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with other PM Group offices as required. Develop an understanding of the project(s) scope of work, deliverables, time lines, hours etc.Produce and check complex piping plans and layouts, piping isometrics sketches and electronic 3D models for equipment in accordance with project requirements, codes, specifications and procedures.Has a combination of design software competency and checking experience (flexibility to move between roles if required) Flexible to adapt to new ways of working and follow current PM checking practices and procedures

Communicate with Designers, leads and wider Project teamOversee Deliverable checking, progress reporting and forecastingKey skills for Checker role:Suitable API and Bio design experienceApply the correct level of scrutiny based on system and Level of Detail (LOD) requirements. Ensure alignment with P&ID and mechanical requirements, focusing on constructability, model accuracy, maintainability, operability, ergonomics, support type/location, and structural integrity.

Qualifications

A degree in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum of 15 years’ piping design experience with 5 to 8 years as Lead Piping Design Engineer / Checker Minimum of 5 to 8 years’ experience in the use of Intergraph’s SP3D (S3D)/CADWorx / Plant 3D Experience on International projects working remotely from India with an EPC company. Sector experience- Pharmaceutical/ Biopharmaceutical/ Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API). Design experience with clients from Europe and the USA is an advantage. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
