Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer - Data Centres - M&E Consultancy - Dublin City

Pay: €60k - €80k per year

A leading Engineering Consultancy servicing clients in the date centre, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical devices and healthcare sectors.

This role can be based in Cork or Dublin.

Report to the Manager of Building Services.

Involved on projects in the Data Centre & Biopharma sectors as well as on specialist building services in the Government, Educational, Healthcare & Leisure sectors. 

Responsible for the running of small projects. Researches, develops, designs and assumes responsibility for coordination and monitoring of engineering project services for Mechanical or Electrical installations, systems, equipment, facilities etc.

Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes

Surveys tests and reports on existing electrical/mechanical installations

Specifies activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing confirm to functional specifications and customer requirements

Represents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors teams

Preparation of specification modifications (word or excel)

Ensure engineering calculations and drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards

Responsible for validation of Intermediate & Graduate Engineer input into designs

Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC and Technical Review perspective

Requirements

Degree qualified with 5+ years experience in a consulting engineering office or in an engineering role within a manufacturing company with a heavy design emphasis. 

Working towards or have achieved MCIBSE/MIEE or equivalent

Working towards Chartered Eng status

Must possess excellent technical skills and written ability, be motivated and enthusiastic, be commercially aware, have the ability to work on their own initiative and be able to meet deadlines and liaise successfully with clients. 

Experience with BIM/Revit systems desired.

Proficient in CAD, Word, Excel, and must be familiar with building services engineering design software suites
